Chapter 08 of 10

Consolidate, save and export

Getting a scattered library into one place — and getting the results out.

Save your photos in one place

Toolbox ▸ Put my photos in one place does something no amount of ticking can: it gathers one copy of every photo — the best copy of each duplicate set, plus every unique photo — into a folder you choose, or into a new ZIP file. You also choose whether to move them or only copy them; copying leaves your library exactly as it was.

A library spread across four drives ends up in one place. Photos that live only inside a zip are copied out too, and the archive they came from is never changed.

The same safety rules apply

Files are re-checked immediately before being touched, names never collide, and the whole operation is one undo step. A new ZIP is put in place only once every photo inside it has been read back and checked, and nothing is ever removed to make room for one.

Save and load results

Toolbox ▸ Save this scan stores the current result list — the sets and their files, not your ticks or reviewed marks — and only the Windows account that saved it can open it. Toolbox ▸ Open a saved scan brings it back later.

Useful when a big review will take more than one sitting, or when you want to look at what a scan found without keeping the app open.

Exporting a report

Toolbox ▸ Export a report writes the results to a file.

FormatGood for
CSVOpening in Excel or Google Sheets, sorting and filtering yourself
HTMLReading or printing — a formatted report with the sets laid out
JSONFeeding into your own scripts

Watch folders

Deduplo can keep an eye on your folders and tell you when new duplicates appear, without you starting a scan. Turn it on in the side panel under Watching, where you also choose how it watches — Automatic (recommended), Real-time (a new file is noticed within seconds of landing) or Timer only — and how often the timer re-checks. Nothing is ever removed for you: it tells you, and you decide.

Scheduled scans

A scan can also run on a schedule — daily, weekly, or at an interval you choose. Results are waiting the next time you open the app.

Review and insights

Result ▸ Review & insights collects the summary views: the folder breakdown, a heatmap of when your duplicates were created, and how much space each part of your library could give back.
